Weekly Shinwdown - Song Seventy Three - Simple Man - Live Acoustic From Kansas City!

Hey There!

So it was still around July 2015 at the time, so of course, I had no school to go to, and I could endlessly listen to Shinedown's albums via Spotify. Since I had recently become hooked to Second Chance from the same album, it seemed only right to start listening to Simple Man right before this track from time to time.

I can honestly say that I love listening to Simple Man live because there is so much passion in the vocals presented, and I am instantly engaged in the song. If I were watching Shinedown live, I know that I would have to completely pour my heart out into Simple Man.

I love the fact that Brent Smith presents the song that with the fact that "it needs no introduction" because as soon as the first chord is played, you just instantly feel engaged with the song.

My Uncle Peter was always into Lynyrd Skynyrd before Shinedown, so I know just how much this song means to him. If we were to ever go watching Shinedown live, it would be amazing to just be able to sing along with everyone else!

In the past, I remember really enjoying to play parts of Simple Man on my guitar, especially since I could always get the hang of the chords. Hopefully in the future I will be able to replay this song more and more.

Thank you to you all who have stuck by my blog posts all of this time, and I hope to write many more in weeks to come!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Simple Man - Live From Acoustic City below incase you're interested!

Well mama told me, when I was young
Said sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this, it'll help you some sunny day

Ahhh
Yeah it will

Or take your time don't live to fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
You'll find a woman and you'll find love
And don't forget that there's is a someone up above

Be a simple kind of man
Be a something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh won't you do this for me son if you can
(if you can)

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need now is in your soul
And you can do this(oh baby)if you try
All that I want from you my son is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man
Be a something that you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh won't you do this for me son if you can
(if you can)

Oh don't you worry
You'll find yourself
Follow your heart
And nothing else
And you can do this(oh baby)if you try
All that I want from you my son is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man
Oh won't you do this for me son if you can
So baby be a simple be a simple man
Oh won't you do this for me son if you can

Weekly Shinedown - Song Seventy Two - Second Chance - Live Acoustic From Kansas City!

Hey There!

So this next song is of course one of my all-time favourites by Shinedown, and hence why it was my first ever post of a Shinedown song.

I think that it was a little later into July 2015 when I first heard this song, especially since it is the last song on the whole of the live album. There's just something so special about Shinedown always singing Second Chance at the end of their concerts and I reckon that it would leave the audience feeling completely amazed!

I especially like this version of the song because it is so close to the original acoustic version by Shinedown, and I also adore the vocals to the song because they honestly just have so much passion behind them! If I were to ever go to a Shinedown concert, I would honestly have to pour my whole entire heart out into Second Chance.

Last of all, Brent always gives an amazing speech at the end of each of Shinedown's concerts, which is really inspiring. And as a matter of fact, since Second Chance was the second song that I ever learned to play on the guitar, the chords just mean so much to me, and two days ago, I was actually playing this exact song!

Thank you to you all who have taken the time to read through my recent posts, and I hope that you all stay tuned in for future posts from me!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Second Chance below incase you're interested!

My eyes are open wide
And by the way,
I made it through the day
I watched the world outside
By the way,
I'm leaving out today

I just saw Halley's comet
She waved
Said, "Why you always running in place?"
Even the man in the moon disappeared
Somewhere in the stratosphere

Tell my mother,
Tell my father
I've done the best I can
To make them realise
This is my life
I hope they understand
I'm not angry, I'm just saying...
Sometimes goodbye is a second chance

Please don't cry one tear for me
I'm not afraid
Of what I have to say
This is my one and only voice
So listen close,
It's only for today

I just saw Halley's comet
She waved
Said, "Why you always running in place?"
Even the man in the moon disappeared
Somewhere in the stratosphere

Tell my mother,
Tell my father
I've done the best I can
To make them realise
This is my life
I hope they understand
I'm not angry, I'm just saying...
Sometimes goodbye is a second chance

Here's my chance
This is my chance

Tell my mother,
Tell my father
I've done the best I can
To make them realise
This is my life
I hope they understand
I'm not angry, I'm just saying...
Sometimes goodbye is a second chance

Sometimes goodbye is a second chance
Sometimes goodbye is a second chance

Weekly Shinedown - Song Seventy One - 45 - Live Acoustic From Kansas City!

Hey There!

Of course, I was already completely familiar with Shinedown's 45 - Acoustic rather than the original version, so to hear the on sing their acoustic version live in Kansas City was truly wonderful for me.

45 has always been such a deep and meaningful so to me, despite not being able to connect the lyrics the same way that Brent Smith does, especially during these sorts of concerts. I especially love watching Shinedown  perform live on YouTube, because it just means that I can listen to Brent talk about each and every song.

Once again, I discovered this song through letting the whole album of Somewhere In The Stratosphere play through, especially since it it s straight after Shed Some Light. My favourite part of 45 - Acoustic, other than the amazing introduction that instantly captivates me, is definitely the final chorus, because there is so much passion behind the music that you can just feel at one with it. But last of all , each of the choruses are sang so well that I am extremely jealous if everyone who was able to see Shinedown perform on their acoustic tour live, because the passion that goes into each song would just blow me away on the stage!

I know that 45 is definitely a must for me to learn on guitar, since it is right at the too of my list, if only I could play the F-minor!

I would lastly like to thank each and every one of you guys for taking the time to read through all of my posts when they become available, your support truly means a lot to me, and I hope to hear from you all in the future!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S I'll leave the lyrics to 45 - Live Acoustic From Kansas City below incase you're interested!

Send away for a priceless gift
One not subtle, one not on the list
Send away for a perfect world
One not simply, so absurd
In these times of doing what you're told
Keep these feelings, no one knows

What ever happened to the young man's heart
Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart

And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,
Swimming through the ashes of another life
No real reason to accept the way things have changed
Staring down the barrel of a 45

Send a message to the unborn child
Keep your eyes open for a while
In a box high up on the shelf, left for you, no one else
There's a piece of a puzzle known as life
Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight

What ever happened to the young man's heart
Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart

Everyone's pointing their fingers
Always condemning me
And nobody knows what I believe
I believe

And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,
And I'm swimming through the ashes of another life
There's no real reason to accept the way things have changed
Staring down the barrel of a 45

45
Staring down the barrel of a 45

Weekly Shinedown - Song Seventy - Sound Of Madness - Live Acoustic From Kansas City

Hey There!

So the last time that I posted about Sound Of Madness was back in June 2015, but by the time I heard the acoustic version of this song, it was around July 2015, and I had completely finished all of my schoolwork which meant that I was free to listen to as much Shinedown as I wanted to!

I often like to listen Sound Of Madness on the bus on the way to college now, but I will always associate the song with my friend Chez, because I know that this is a personal favourite of his.

Despite Sound Of Madness not being an acoustic song, I think that Shinedown did an excellent job of  making it fit in with the whole theme of the acoustic tour. I especially like the chorus of the song because it just seems so relaxed and acoustically pleasing, and it works really well all-in-all!

Lastly, I did once say in my original blog post for Sound Of Madness that if I ever heard an acoustic version of this song, it would probably inspire me to learn this song on guitar. So now that I've actually gone and found an acoustic version, the world's my oyster!

Thank you for all of your patience, and I hope that you'll enjoy future blog posts from me real soon!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Sound Of Madness - Live Acoustic From Kansas City below incase you're interested!

Hey There!

This next Shinedown is one that I first heard at the end of November 2014 from the website SoundCloud.

Back last year, when I used to do and IT GCSE, I had loads of coursework that I had to complete. Most of this had to be done after school in a computer room. It was only me that would stay behind every night, and it got incredibly boring. Especially since I couldn't use YouTube in school to keep myself entertained due to the fact that it used way too much internet.

Instead, I discovered the website called SoundCloud on the internet. I thought that it would be a great idea to listen to Shinedown songs on here, so I just keyed in "Shinedown" and listened to the top songs. The first ones that came up were Second Chance and Unity, but a little bit further down, Sound Of Madness was the next song.

Very quickly, this song won me over, and it made me want to finally listen to Shinedown's complete album called The Sound Of Madness! This discovery certainly led to me finding many other Shinedown songs because the long hours in IT certainly got very boring, so Shinedown would always entertain me.

This song has recently had a massive impact on me because recently, in our youth club at church, my friend Chez has been playing many Shinedown songs on the loud speakers, and Sound Of Madness had been one of the most played songs. It is also one of my friend Leah's favourite Shinedown songs, and she always requests this song because she knows all of the lyrics to it.

Fairly recently, on Sunday 31st May 2015, my Uncle Peter drove me and my friends Leah, Louise, Georgia and Anya to a Starbucks that was at the motorway services, and we all had some hot chocolates there. It was like a mini road trip for us, and most of my friends suggested that we should listen to some Shinedown songs. So the first album that my Uncle Peter played was Shinedown's live album called Somewhere In The Stratosphere. Leah really wanted Sound Of Madness on, so in the back of the car, we were all jamming to this song, and many more on the way there, and on the way back.

The meaning of the song that I interpret is that it is about a person who has faced many problems in life, but they just have to get on with it, and continue to live their life. I've never head an acoustic version to this song, but if I did, it would probably inspire me to learn this song on guitar, just like all of Shinedown's acoustic versions of their songs do to me.

Feel free to talk about some of your favourite Shinedown songs below, and stay tuned for other posts from me!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Sound Of Madness below incase you're interested!

Yeah, I get it,
You're an outcast.
Always under attack.
Always coming in last,
Bringing up the past.
No one owes you anything.
I think you need a shotgun blast,
A kick in the ass,
So paranoid...
Watch your back!!

Oh my, here we go...
Another loose cannon gone bi-polar
Slipped down, couldn't get much lower
Quicksand's got no sense of humour.
I'm still laughing like hell.
You think that by crying to me
Looking so sorry that I'm gonna believe,
You've been infected by a social disease.
Well, then take your medicine.

I created the Sound of Madness.
Wrote the book on pain.
Somehow I'm still here,
To explain,
That the darkest hour never comes in the night.
You can sleep with a gun.
When you gonna wake up and fight... for yourself?

I'm so sick of this tombstone mentality,
If there's an afterlife,
Then it'll set you free.
But I'm not gonna part the seas
You're a self-fulfilling prophecy.
You think that crying to me,
Looking so sorry that I'm gonna believe,
You've been infected by a social disease.
Well, then take your medicine.

I created the Sound of Madness.
Wrote the book on pain.
Somehow I'm still here,
To explain,
That the darkest hour never comes in the night.
You can sleep with a gun.
When you gonna wake up...
When you gonna wake up and fight...

I created the Sound of Madness.
Wrote the book on pain.
Somehow I'm still here,
To explain,
That the darkest hour never comes in the night.
You can sleep with a gun.
When you gonna wake up and fight... for yourself?

When you gonna wake up and fight... for yourself?
When you gonna wake up and fight... for yourself?
When you gonna wake up and fight... for yourself?
