Weekly Shinedown - Song Seventy Eight - Devour - Live Acoustic From Kansas City!

Hey There!

So this song has been in my life since November 2014, but when I first became a massive fan of the acoustic version live in Kansas City since July 2015, and as usual, it was discovered during my extra long summer after I had finished high school.

I absolutely loved Shinedown's introduction to Devour in Kansas City because they took time to appreciate all of the soldiers who had fought for them, and it was actually really emotional, especially with the neat piano playing in the background.

The whole way through the song, there is a lovely consistency from the piano. I also love the key that the song is written in because it means that it is amazing to sing along to, and even now, as I am writing this blog post, with a really sore throat and a bad cold, the key that the song is translated in can be sang by me!

I mean the worst part is that since May 2015, I still haven't been able to find any suitable chords to play Devour on the guitar, which is a real shame because that would have been amazing!

Thank you to all of you who have taken time to read this week's blog post, and I hope that you'll stock around to read more soon!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Devour - Live Acoustic From Kansas City below incase you're interested!

Take it and take it and take it and take it and take it all
Take it and take it and take it until you take us all
Smash it and crash it and thrash it and trash it
You know they're only toys
Try it you'll like it don't hide it don't fight it, just let it out
Steal and shoot it and kill it or take another route
Take it and take it and take it
You know they're only toys

Devour Devour
Suffocate your own empire
Devour Devour
It's your final hour

Devour Devour
Stolen like a foreign soul
Devour Devour
What a way to go

You want it, you want it, you want it, you want it
Well here it is
Everything everything everything
Isn't so primitive

Take it and take it and take it and take it and take it all
Nobody nobody wants to feel like this
Nobody nobody wants to live like this
Nobody nobody wants a war like this

Devour Devour
Suffocate your own empire
Devour Devour
It's your final hour

Devour Devour
Stolen like a foreign soul
Devour Devour
What a way to go
What a way to go

Diving down
Round and round
diving down
round and round

Devour Devour
Suffocate your own empire
Devour Devour
It's your final hour

Devour Devour
Stolen like a foreign soul
Devour Devour
What a way to go

Devour Devour
Suffocate your own empire
Devour Devour
It's your final hour

Devour Devour
Stolen like a foreign soul
Devour Devour
What a way to go
What a way to go

Weekly Shinedown - Song Seventy Seven - Fly From The Outside- Live Acoustic From Kansas City!

Hey There!

Again, since Fly From The Inside was recorded live in Kansas City, it was another acoustic version that I heard when I was off for summer in July 2015, and at the time, I was listening to all of Shinedown's tracks because I was getting really excited for Shinedown's fifth album called Threat To Survival to be coming out soon.

Before Shinedown began to play this song, Brent Smith introduced the song as being their first ever single, and that when the media first started to hear them, they didn't think that Shinedown would get very far. However, I like the hidden meaning in that Shinedown have been able to swoop in secretly, and capture loads of fans before becoming really successful worldwide! It's honestly really inspiring for me!

This is an amazing adaptation of their original version of the song, because everything through the whole song is just perfectly in time. The vocals, guitar beats, drum timings, all on point!

However, it has to said that there are no chords to Fly From The Inside online for me to play on my guitar, which is a real shame because this one would have been brilliant to play!

I would like to thank all of you for taking the time to read my little weekly posts because all of your support means a lot to me, just like Brent Smith said before Fly From The Outside at the fact that the original Shinedown fans were the ones who got Shinedown to where they are today!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Fly From The Inside - Live Acoustic From Kansas City below incase you're interested!

Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders
Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders
On my shoulders
All alone I pierce the chain
And on and on the sting remains
And dying eyes consume me now
The voice inside screams out loud

I am focused on what I am after
The key to the next open chapter
Cause I found a way to steal the sun from the sky
Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside

Every day a new deception
Pick your scene and take direction
And on and on I search to connect
But I don't wear a mask and I have no regrets

I am focused on what I am after
The key to the next open chapter
Cause I found a way to steal the sun from the sky
Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside

I can't escape the pain
I can't control the rage
Sometimes I think that I'm gonna go insane
I'm not against what's right
I'm not for what's wrong
I'm just making my way and I'm gone

Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders

Cause I found a way to steal the sun from the sky
Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside

That I decided to fly from the inside
That I decided to fly from the inside

Weekly Shinedown - Song Seventy Six - I Dare You - Live Acoustic From Kansas City!

Hey There!

Since I Dare You was from Shinedown's acoustic tour in Kansas city, it was still around July 2015 when I came across this song, because I was still off school for summer, and casually checking out as many new Shinedown songs as I could, especially from their live album Somewhere In The Stratosphere.

After going for a long time without knowing the trues meaning to I Dare You, despite writing about the lyrics in two other posts back in April/May 2015, when I listened to the introduction to I Dare You, Brent Smith told the audience that it was written about a friend who was a firefighter, who decided to train himself to become a firefighter, and he had an amazing and inspiring willpower!

The introduction to the live acoustic version of I Dare You is incredible. I just love how it blends so well together. There is a lovely guitar strumming, and it is all in time really well with the simple drum beat. All-in-all, it sounds brilliant, and this style of introduction is carried in the first part of the song until the chorus. I am also a massive fan of this chorus because the vocals in it are amazing, and so fab to sing along to.

Furthermore, the bridge later into the song is also a classic! Honestly, there are so many different aspects to this live acoustic version that I'm really struggling to find a favourite part to it!

From the truly amazing introduction, the simple guitar plucks that sound brilliant alone have solely made me want to learn this beat on my guitar, not to mention even singing along to this song, because that would be incredible!

Thank you so much to you all who have stuck by these blog posts of mine, and I hope to hear from you all soon!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to I Dare You - Live Acoustic From Kansas City below incase you're interested.

Hello, let me introduce you to
The characters in the show
One says yes, one says no
Decide - which voice in your head you can keep alive

Even in madness, I know you still believe
Paint me on canvas so I become
What you could never be

I dare you to tell me to walk through fire
Wear my soul and call me a liar
I dare you to tell me to walk through fire
I dare you to tell me
I dare you to

Hello, are you still chasing
The memories in shadows
Some stay young, some grow old
Come alive, there are thoughts unclear
You can never hide

Even in madness, I know you still believe
Paint me on canvas so I become
What you could never be

I dare you to tell me to walk through fire
Wear my soul and call me a liar
I dare you to tell me to walk through fire
I dare you to tell me
I dare you to

Hello
Hello...
I dare you to tell me to walk through fire
Wear my soul and call me a liar
I dare you to tell me to walk through fire
I dare you to tell me
I dare you to
Hello...
Hello...
I dare you to tell me
I dare you to
I dare you to tell me
I dare you to

Weekly Shinwdown - Song Seventy Five - With A Little Help From My Friends - Live Acoustic From Kansas City!

Hey There!

Here is another live song by Shinedown that I discovered from their live album called Somewhere In The Stratosphere back in July 2015. But this song was originally wrote by The Beatles.

It is quite different to all of Shinedown's other songs because they brought in singer Will Hoge to assist them with this song on the tour.

My favourite part of With A Little Help From My Friends has got to be the chorus, because once again, it just symbolises the fact that the band members are all leaning on one another to get by in life. And since they're all singing together, it is quite unusual usually to hear this from Shinedown, but it sound amazing during this song!

I also really like the introduction at the beginning because it is really quick, especially with the marvellous drum beat that commences!

Unfortunately, the majority of chords within With A Little Help From My Friends are major, which means that they are almost impossible for poor old me to play, but it is still a brilliant son to sing along to, especially when you are stood arm-in-arm with some of your bestest friends!

I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been reading my posts recently, your support really means a lot to me, and I hope to write more in the future!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to With A Little Help From My Friends - Live Acoustic From Kansas City below incase you're interested!

What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends

What do I do when my love is away?
(Does it worry you to be alone?)
How do I feel by the end of the day?
(Are you sad because you're on your own?)
No I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends

(Do you need anybody?)
I need somebody to love
(Could it be anybody?)
I want somebody to love

(Would you believe in a love at first sight?)
Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time
(What do you see when you turn out the light?)
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Oh I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends

(Do you need anybody?)
I just need someone to love
(Could it be anybody?)
I want somebody to love

Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends
Oh I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends
With a little help from my friends

Weekly Shinedown - Song Seventy Four - Times Like These - Live Acoustic From Kansas City!

Hey There!

This next song was sang at Shinedown's live acoustic concert in Kansas City, but they didn't actually write it. The song was originally sang by Foo Fighters, but before listening to Shinedown's version, I wasn't actually familiar with the song.

What like about Times Like These the most is that the energy within the song is so fresh, and they have also used a new style within the song. The best aspect of it for me is that each of the Shinedown members sing a section of the song, and it just works so well because they appear to be leaning on each other for support, which is just brilliant.

The majority of the chords for Times Like These seem pretty playable, so hopefully, this will be one more song that I can learn in the future. But before I do that, I had better learn the lyrics, although that shouldn't be too hard since there are only two verses!

Thanks ever so much to all of you who have read this week's post, and I hope to hear more from you all in the future!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Times Like These - Live Acoustic From Kansas City below incase you're interested!

I am a one way motorway
I'm the road that drives away
then follows you back home
I am a street light shining
I'm a white light blinding bright
burning off and on

it's times like these you learn to live again
it's times like these you give and give again
it's times like these you learn to love again
it's times like these time and time again

I am a new day rising
I'm a brand new sky
to hang the stars upon tonight
I am a little divided
do I stay or run away
and leave it all behind?

it's times like these you learn to live again
it's times like these you give and give again
it's times like these you learn to love again
it's times like these time and time again
