Weekly Shinedown - Song Thirty - Sin With A Grin!

Hey There!

Since I listened to Shinedown's full album called The Sound Of Madness at the end of December 2014, that meant that I heard Sin With A Grin during this time as it is the seventh song on the album.

Originally, I didn't think that yet again, it would be my type of song. However, after listening to the whole album many times over, Sin With A Grin soon became a song that I began to love.

My favourite part of Sin With A Grin is the chorus because there is so much energy that is boosted into it. I also love the whole vibe throughout the whole song because it makes it seem so alive and energetic!

I actually quite like the meaning behind the song, because the message that I see is that all that we do that is wrong will always be evil, and can never change!

The chords for Sin With A Grin are some of the harder that I have seen, so I would not even attempt to play this song on my guitar. But regardless, I still like to listen to it.

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Sin With A Grin below incase you're interested!

Take a good look at agony
Force fed pass down
Time release
I'm inspired to find the liar
Black list X on the back
Of a soulfull man
I've got way's you understand
Look left, look right, but I'm
Behind you
I never noticed, until I focused
On everything you did, you said,
You lit the fuse inside my head

Thank you for reminding me
Of why I'm sick inside
Thank you for the venom, did
You think it would paralyse?
These scars I scratch, I tear
Are there under my skin
Where you've always been
Thank you for reminding me,
To sin with a grin

Hangman
Standing on a twisted 2x4
Built your house, but forgot
To lock the door
I'm inside with two black eyes
I have not one shred of sympathy
I have no use for apologies
I'm inspired to find the liar
I never noticed, until I focused
On everything you did, you said,
You lit the fuse inside my head

Thank you for reminding me
Of why I'm sick inside
Thank you for the venom, did
You think it would paralyse?
These scars I scratch, I tear
Are there under my skin
Where you've always been
Thank you for reminding me,
To sin with a grin

Thank you for reminding me
Of why I'm sick inside
Thank you for the venom, did
You think it would paralyse?
These scars I scratch, I tear
Are there under my skin
Where you've always been
Thank you for reminding me -

Of why I'm sick inside
Thank you for the venom, did
You think it would paralyse?
These scars I scratch, I tear
Are there under my skin
Where you've always been
Thank you for reminding me,
To sin with a grin

Sin with a grin
Sin with a grin
Sin with a grin

Weekly Shinedown - Song Twenty Nine - If You Only Knew!

Hey There!

I would just like to say that If You Only Knew by Shinedown is one of my all-time favourite songs by them, and it means an awful lot to me.

By the time that I heard this song, it was coming towards the end of December 2014. I had finished school for the holidays, and I didn't have much to do. I had finally finished my IT coursework, so I didn't have to stay behind at school any longer, and I was so glad about that. But somehow, I still missed listening to Shinedown on SoundCloud. So one day, I decided to listen to the whole of their third album The Sound Of Madness.

If You Only Knew is the sixth song on this album, so when I heard it, it was my first time ever. I liked it so much that I decided to watch the music video on YouTube. I loved it so much, and so for the next six months, I listened to If You Only Knew almost every evening before I went to bed. It really calmed me down before I went to sleep, and it just had a special meaning to me!

I know that my Uncle Peter really likes this song too, because a few weeks ago, we drove to Starbucks in his car, and he played If You Only Knew in his car. There was only me and him who knew the words, so we sang our hearts out, and it was such an amazing experience. I also love the live versions of this song, and it is probably one of my most listened songs ever!

A few months ago, I decided to look up the chords online, and I even learnt to play parts of If You Only Knew on my guitar. It is one of the best songs that I have ever played, and I even love singing to it too. It will always mean a lot to me.

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to If You Only Knew below in case you're interested!

If you only knew
I'm hanging by a thread
The web I spin for you
If you only knew
I'd sacrifice my beating
Heart before I'd lose you
I still hold onto the letters
You returned
I swear I've lived and learned

It's 4:03 and I can't sleep
Without you next to me I
Toss and turn like the sea
If I drown tonight, bring me
Back to life
Breathe your breath in me
The only thing that I still believe
In is you, if you only knew

If you only knew
How many times I counted
All the words that went wrong
If you only knew
How I refuse to let you go,
Even when you're gone
I don't regret any days I
Spent, nights we shared,
Or letters that I sent

It's 4:03 and I can't sleep
Without you next to me I
Toss and turn like the sea
If I drown tonight, bring me
Back to life
Breathe your breath in me
The only thing that I still believe
In is you, if you only knew
If you only knew

If you only knew
I still hold onto the letters
You returned
You help me live and learn

It's 4:03 and I can't sleep
Without you next to me I
Toss and turn like the sea
If I drown tonight, bring me
Back to life
Breathe your breath in me
The only thing that I still believe
In is you, believe in is you
I still believe in you
Oh, if you only knew

Weekly Shinedown - Song Twenty Eight - Heroes!

Hey There!

This next song was one that I heard again in December 2014. I was at home, and I decided that I would listen to one of Shinedown's earlier albums called Us And Them. It is the second track to the album, and it is a really good song. It comes after the album's introduction called The Dream, and I just think that the timing is so right for the beginning of the album.

I also remember listening to this song on SoundCloud whilst I was in school because it was a familiar song to me, and I really like it.

When I was reading through the lyrics to Heroes, they seemed really intriguing and interesting. In particular, the verses of this song are written amazingly, and I just love them so much.

I would say that the meaning of this song is that although someone may have passed away, people still look up to them as heroes, and will never forget them.

From reading through the chords to Heroes, they don't seem too difficult, and I think that I will begin to learn to this song on guitar because it would be a great one to learn!

Have a read of some of my earlier blog posts if you wish to!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Heroes below incase you're interested!

Stare in wonder, who's here to bring you down?
Find your martyr, I'm sure you've made the crown
So light a fire under my bones, so when
I die for you, at least I'll die alone

Ain't nothing for me to end up like this
There's no comparing me this time

All my heroes have now become ghosts
Sold their sorrow to the ones who paid the most
All my heroes are dead and gone
But down inside of me, they still live on

Dark devotion in a beacon paradise
Shows no emotion to a willing sacrifice
You can put a man on trial, but you can't make the guilty pay
And you can cage an animal, but you can't take away the rage

Ain't nothing for me to end up like this
There's no comparing me this time

All my heroes have now become ghosts
Sold their sorrow to the ones who paid the most
All my heroes are dead and gone
But down inside of me, they still live on

All my heroes have now become ghosts
Sold their sorrow to the ones who paid the most
All my heroes are dead and gone
But down inside of me, they still live on
They're all dead and gone

Weekly Shnedown - Song Twenty Seven - Fly From The Inside!

Hey There!

So this next song was found yet again on Shinedown's SoundCloud page, because I wanted to find some more new songs to listen to, and it was towards the top of Shinedown's lists. It reminds me of my old Maths class that I used to attend because Fly From The Inside used to in my head all of the time, and I really enjoyed singing this song in my own time.

It is also the first song on Shinedown's first album called Leave A Whisper, and around the middle of December 2014, I decided to listen to the full album for the first time. Since Fly From The Inside was the first song on the album, it because a new favourite of mine, and I also really enjoyed the song thoroughly.

I would say that the meaning of the song is that it is about a person who has gone through a lot of stress, but they have finally decided to get over that by flying from the inside. As well as listening to the original version of this song, I also love listening to live versions of Fly From The Inside by Shinedown because they are so amazing!

The introduction and the first two lines of this song are really amazing to me, and just get me completely hooked to the whole song. The guitar strumming the whole way through really make the song full of energy, and extremely exciting!

Sadly, this is another Shinedown song that I cannot find the chords to online, but it is actually possible to buy all of the songbooks online, so maybe I may look into this some time later.

Don't forget to stay tuned every Thursday for more posts from me!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Fly From The Inside below incase you're interested!

Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders
Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders
On my shoulders
All alone I pierce the chain
And on and on the sting remains
And dying eyes consume me now
The voice inside screams out loud

I am focused on what I am after
The key to the next open chapter
Cause I found a way to steal the sun from the sky
Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside

Every day a new deception
Pick your scene and take direction
And on and on I search to connect
But I don't wear a mask and I have no regrets

I am focused on what I am after
The key to the next open chapter
Cause I found a way to steal the sun from the sky
Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside

I can't escape the pain
I can't control the rage
Sometimes I think that I'm gonna go insane
I'm not against what's right
I'm not for what's wrong
I'm just making my way and I'm gone

Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders

Cause I found a way to steal the sun from the sky
Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside

That I decided to fly from the inside
That I decided to fly from the inside

Weekly Shinedown - Song Twenty Six - Cry For Help!

Hey There!

So this next song was one that I found around December 2014. I had already listened to a lot of individual songs by Shinedown, but I had never listened to a full album yet.

On SoundCloud, the first five songs of Shinedown's album called The Sound Of Madness were in a playlist. I decided to listen to this playlist because I already knew four out of the five songs, and Cry For Help was the only one that I hadn't heard. I used to listen to this playlist many times on repeat because all of the songs are so great. Eventually, I managed to listen to the full album, but at this point, I was still yet to do this.

Everytime that I listen to Cry For Help song now, it always reminds me of the time that I used to spend in IT, listening to shinedown to get me through my work.

I love that this song is full of energy, and although the song is very heavy to me, it still seems rather bright. My favourite part of this song is the introduction, because the guitars are so powerful, and it just created such an amazing vive before I listen to Cry For Help.

When I was looking into the song meanings, the song reminded me of the story of the boy who cried wolf, because after a while of lying to everyone, people will stop to believe you, even the times when you are actually telling the truth. As a result, you start to lose trust in this person.

I've never seen the chords to Cry For Help, so it would be great if I could get hold of them. Also, I got to listen to Shinedown's new single called Cut The Chord, which I really like!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Cry For Help below incase you're interested!

You've been hiding out
For quite a while now,
Living off of people you know
Trying to raise a little money
To pay off all the monkeys
That you met inside the
Rabbit hole
You're taking candy from the white witch
You're smoking tea with Mama Kin
Well, there's a wolf outside
A brick house screaming;
"This time I'm gonna blow it in!"

Because the mind is a weapon, see
And it's got you on
Your hands and knees
Pull the trigger if you're gonna
We all know that you wanna
Count off 1, 2, 1, 2, 3!

You better pray that theres
Another way out
You better pray that
Someones listening now
(And doesn't wanna watch you drown)
'Cause when you lie like
The devil himself
No angels gonna hear your
Cry for help!

I know you must really think
It's funny, you had everybody
Fooled in the end
But it's a little unassuming
Considered how you knew me
I'm the only one that called
You a friend

Because the mind is a weapon, see
But you're not gonna
Use it on me
Pull the trigger if you're gonna
We all know that you wanna
Count off 1, 2, 1, 2, 3!

You better pray that theres
Another way out
You better pray that
Someones listening now
(And doesn't wanna watch you drown)
'Cause when you lie like
The devil himself
No angels gonna hear your
Cry for help!

Count off 1, 2, 1, 2, 3!!!

You better pray that theres
Another way out
You better pray that
Someones listening now
(And doesn't wanna watch you drown)
'Cause when you lie like
The devil himself
No angels gonna hear your
Cry for help!

For help
For help
For help
