Weekly Shinedown - Song Fifty Two - Left Out!

Hey There!

Again, it was at the beginning of April 2015 when I discovered Left Out. I used to love listening to it individually, and also, as part of Shinedown's first album Us And Them. The song really reminds me of when I used to stay at school every evening to complete my IT coursework, and honestly, by this point, I must have almost finished my coursework.

My favourite part of Left Out is definitely at the beginning of the song, just before the chorus starts, when all of the rock guitars kick in, and it is just immensely amazing!

The best line of Left Out is definitely the opening line, which is "where's that space of fear you hide?" because to me, there is a hidden metaphor behind it that although fear is always somewhere within our bodies, it does not always come out, or is shown to anybody. I feel that Left Out is linked fairly well to Lost In The Crowd, because they both bring out the message of loneliness and isolation within them.

I can't seem to find the chords to Left Out anywhere, so I guess that that's one more Shinedown song that unfortunately, I won't be able to play on my guitar!

Tomorrow, it will have been a whole year since I started this blog, so to all of you reading this post I would just like to say thank you very much for sticking with me and my Shinedown journey during the year 2015!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Weekly Shinedown - Song Fifty One - Lost In The Crowd!

Hey There!

It was around the beginning of April 2015 when I discovered Lost In The Crowd by Shinedown. This was mainly because around this time, I was really into Shinedown's first album Leave A Whisper, and I was really into listening to each of these songs individually on YouTube.

Lost In The Crowd stuck out to me fairly quickly because the introduction was really my style of song! It's rather acoustic, with many guitars, and this really drew my attention to the song. My favourite part of the song is the chorus because there is so much power and meaning behind it, especially the second chorus because it is just before the guitar solo. This guitar solo is absolutely incredible, and I love it so much!

Sometimes I feel that Lost In The Crowd can reflect on my own life because there are times when I feel absolutely swarmed with so many different people, and I would honestly not be able to find my way. In a sense, the song could have been sang to my by someone who would want to save me from this crowd.

I remember back in May 2015, I downloaded Lost In The Crown to my phone because I really enjoyed the song, and wanted to listen to it when I was often out and about!

Sadly, Lost In The Crowd has got a lot of Bb within it, so playing it on the guitar would be pretty impossible for me. However, I would love to learn to play the introduction sometime, as it would truly be amazing!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Lost In The Crowd below incase you're interested!

Should I offer up my hand

And save a wish for once
For all of us
And should I offer up my hand
And lay the guilt on myself
So it's easier, to not stay, to not stay

Because I found you in your corner
I pulled you out of the clouds
You left in such a hurry
Your face is lost in the crowd

Should I open up my eye's or just ignore who you are
And what you could have been
And should I open up my eye's and make believe you will change
So it's easier to not stay, to not stay

Because I found you in your corner
I pulled you out of the clouds
You left in such a hurry
Your face is lost in the crowd

[Guitar Solo]

Because I found you in your corner
I pulled you out of the clouds
You left in such a hurry
Your face got lost in the crowd

Because I found you in your corner
I pulled you out of the clouds
You left in such a hurry
Your face is lost in the crowd
Your face is lost in the crowd
Your face is lost in the crowd

Weekly Shinedown - Song Fifty - Crying Out!

Hey There!

So I only started listing to Shinedown's very first album Leave A Whisper around April 2015. By this point, I had almost finished my IT coursework for good, so most of the album does not remind me of the hours that I spent there, but I do remember that as I was completing my course, I started to listen to Leave A Whisper quite often. Then straight away, I remember that Crying Out really stuck out the most of al of the new Shinedown songs that I had heard.

Not long after initially hearing this song, I began to listen to Crying Out on YouTube often because somehow, I really took a liking to this song. My favourite part of Crying Out is definitely the chorus because the power and energy behind it is so immense. Plus, the beat in general is just rather cool, and I honestly love the song so much!

The meaning behind the song to me is that someone has finally discovered who they really are, and that they now really want to live their life on their own, without the distraction from others!

I believe that the chords to Crying Out aren't too difficult, but I haven't actually looked up these chords for quite a while, so who knows. Most of all, I cannot believe that I have actually written about 50 different Shinedown songs currently, it has been such an amazing journey, and I am so thankful for all of you that have taken the time to read any of my blog posts.

Recently, it seems that I've heard quite a lot of Shinedown out in the open. Mainly because last week, when I was travelling on the bus to college, the bus driver was listening to Shinedown on full blast through his speaker, and he was playing the full album of The Sound Of Madness. When I got onto the bus, he was currently listening to Sound Of Madness, and then just when I thought that things couldn't have got any better, Second Chance played straight afterwards, and it made my day so much. Then today, I was doing some karaoke with my Uncle Peter, and some of my Church friends, and he decided to let us all sing along to both Second Chance and Unity, and it was honestly the best experience ever!

Anyways, I do hope that you've enjoyed reading this week's blog post, and remember that you can always comment some of your favourite Shinedown songs below.

I'll see you all next Thursday!

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Crying Out below incase you're interested!

Don't use a weakness
Don't change the subject,
Don't ask the questions if you fear the answer
You look distorted
Lets make you clearer
Lets flip the switch and use the smoke and mirrors
Re-invent yourself today
Re-invent your world today

Crying out for the last time
Clear a space for the warning signs
Crying out for the last time
And there's no turning back now that you've opened up to your mind

What guides your vision
What holds the balance
Don't think that I can't see you shake and tremble
Well I know your nervous this world is scary
You have to let go all the madness you carry

Re-invent yourself today
Re-invent your world today

Crying out for the last time
Clear a space for the warning signs
Crying out for the last time
And there's no turning back now that you've opened up to your mind

There is no turning back now
Everything you've ever wanted
Everything in this moment
There is no turning back now

Crying out for the last time
Clear a space for the warning signs
Crying out for the last time
And there's no turning back now that you've opened up to your mind

Crying out for the last time
Clear a space for the warning signs
Crying out for the last time
And there's no turning back now that you've opened up to your mind

Weekly Shinedown - Song Forty Nine - The Dream!

Hey There!

I'm not entirely sure if you can class The Dream as an actual song by Shinedown, but I'm going to anyway because it's just the perfect introduction to their second album Us And Them. It must have been towards the end of March 2015 when I properly listened to The Dream.

I really like the fact that the poem to this song really flows, and it is great to listen to. What I like most about Shinedown is that they're not afraid to try something knew to their album, and as you can see, the risks tend to work really well.

At the end of the recital from the child, there are rock guitars that start to play. This tune then continues into the song Heroes, and I just think that it's the perfect mix.

Evidently, it's pretty impossible to find chords to The Dream online, although I think that it would be a very good idea to listen to the recital whenever you can't sleep.

Thank you for reading this week's blog post, and be sure to tune in for more posts from me in the future.

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to The Dream below incase you're interested!

Whisper in the yard and turn the trees all into toys
Lay there on the ground, and turn the dirt into your joy
From what I see and what I know, it's all been boring lately
So I suggest we trade a question mark in for a maybe
Time your riddles right, and make a point that has no sense
Make sure that you're smiling, and the money's been well spent
Innocence and ignorance, it all goes hand in hand
I'm not sure that I'm right, but I hope you'll understand
I hope that you're still searching for the start that has no end
And all the plastic people have now become your friends
Before you start to drift and your soul begins to scream
I just wanted to tell you that you're listening to a dream

Weekly Shinedown - Song Forty Eight - Beyond The Sun!

Hey There!

Beyond The Sun has got to be one of the last Shinedown songs from Us And Them that I fully heard in it's downright. The time would have been around the middle of March 2015, which means that at the time, I had known about Shinedown for almost a whole year!

I honestly do feel that Beyond The Sun is my absolute style of song. The introduction is so calm, and acoustic. I also love the strumming of the acoustic guitar during this introduction, and also in the first verse of the song. But I have got to say that during the chorus, the rock guitars are tremendous, and it just makes me love the song even more.

My favourite line of Beyond The Sun is "let me be the fire in your head" because as well as the rock guitars really building up at this point, it just shows that the character in the song is really digging deep to somebody, wanting the be apart of them. I feel that the message behind the song is about a man who is afraid to love, and that "Beyond The Sun" is a metaphor for a destination that he feels he can never get to!

The chords of Beyond The Sun seem fairly straightforward, it's just a few Em's, C's, E's and G's. I reckon that I could handle that, so I'd better get learning at leaf one new Shinedown song this winter, since this time last year was when I started to play Second Chance and Unity very regularly.

Thanks ever so much for reading this week's post, and I hope to hear from you all soon!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Beyond The Sun below incase you're interested!

Speak to me
So I can understand your tongue
You seem rather fragile
It's been said
It's cold beyond the sun
Have you ever been there?

Communicating thoughts of ways
To never have to speak again
Let me be the fire in your head

Bring what's yours, I'll take what's mine
And meet you on the other side
We'll leave a sign so anyone can find us
A better place, a sweeter time
We won't need any wings to fly
A place beyond the sun

Look for me
The way you would if you were blind
Don't be so resistant
I've been known
To travel much too fast
Is that you in the distance?

Communicating thoughts of ways
To never have to speak again
Let me be the fire in your head

Bring what's yours, I'll take what's mine
And meet you on the other side
We'll leave a sign so anyone can find us
A better place, a sweeter time
We won't need any wings to fly
A place beyond the sun

Communicating thoughts of ways
To never have to speak again
Let me be the fire in your head

Bring what's yours, I'll take what's mine
And meet you on the other side
We'll leave a sign so anyone can find us
A better place, a sweeter time
We won't need any wings to fly
A place beyond the sun

Weekly Shinedown - Song Forty Seven - Yer Majesty!

Hey There!

By the time that I was able to independently recognise Yer Majesty from the album Us And Them, it was around the beginning of March 2015. I then decided to listen to the song a few times in a row so that I could become more and more familiar with it.

I feel that the meaning of this song is that there is a person who feels like they are the ruler of everyone, but no matter what they say or do, they never will. And so long as no one wants them to rule over everyone inside their own mind, they will never have any power over everyone. The writer of the song is in a way having a word with this person to basically tell them the truth.

My favourite line of the song is "I played your game once" because I think that it just shows how this person once fell for their tricks, but it also has a double meaning behind it all. I also really like the whole sound of the chorus, mainly because of the raised voices, and pumped energy throughout the whole song.

As of yet, there are no chords online for Yer Majesty, so I guess that means that I'm just sticking to the songs on guitar that I've known for ages. It must have been around a whole year now since I learnt  to play Second Chance on the guitar back in November 2014, and it was the second song that I ever learnt to play on the guitar, after Silent Night. I seem to have come so far since then!

Thank you very much for reading this week's post, and I hope to hear from you all soon!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Yer Majesty below incase you're interested!

Come closer inside
There's something I need you to see
It's just a picture of what the ignorant believe
I come so you can know me
I'm here to make you proud
I come to wreck and guide you
I'm here to show you how

You know I'm coming for you
Cause I got nothing to lose
And now I'm still on my way for the pay

So you wanted to be free from everything you've done to me?
And you wanted to be known so you wouldn't feel so alone?
And you wanted to believe that you still had integrity?
And I'm sorry you're on your knees, but you can't blame me, yer majesty

Let's take a moment
I need to spoil who you are
I played your game once
You sold me out with no regard
I come so you can know me
I'm here to make you proud
I come to wreck and guide you
I'm here to voice out loud

You know I'm coming for you
Cause I got nothing to lose
And now I'm still on my way for the pay

So you wanted to be free from everything you've done to me?
And you wanted to be known so you wouldn't feel so alone?
And you wanted to believe that you still had integrity?
And I'm sorry you're on your knees, but you can't blame me, yer majesty

So you wanted to be free from everything you've done to me?
And you wanted to be known so you wouldn't feel so alone?
And you wanted to believe that you still had integrity?
And I'm sorry you're on your knees, but you can't blame me, yer majesty

Weekly Shinedown - Song Forty Six - Trade Yourself In!

Hey There!

Although I haven't actually heard Trade Yourself In for a while, I do recall that it was in February 2015 when I first came to hearing the song. Again, it was during IT that I became familiar with it, because I was completely obsessed with the whole album Us And Them.

I absolutely love the introduction to Trade Yourself In because it is so full of passion and energy. I also really like the guitar beat the whole way through the song because it seems so steady and relaxing. However, my favourite part of the whole song is the chorus because it is amazing to sing along to at the top of my voice, and it just cheers me up so much. I do wish that I could find the chords to Trade Yourself in though because I think that it would be such a cool song to lay on the guitar!

By looking into the meaning of Trade Yourself In, I see it as a person who has to put on a mask to hide their true identify to others. I guess this only scratches the surface though of this wonderful masterpiece of a song!

Thank you very much for reading this week's blog post from me, and make sure that you stay tuned in to this blog to see many posts in the future!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Trade Yourself In below incase you'e interested!

Deal with me
Don't even think about leaving yet
I'm not a part of some false regret
Even though I believe in fables
Come reset
A part of life that you'd soon forget
And maybe think about who you hurt
In the process

I don't think they know, that's my heart exposed
From the fearing of the endless lies

Trade yourself in for the perfect one
No one needs to know that you feel you've been ruined
Trade yourself in for diamond eyes
Watch the stars collide as you're lifted from your burden

You see me
And you know I am not the same
Can't pretend to just fake a smile
Cause you know I feel every ounce of
Pain combined
With the loss of a youthful mind
You need to look at what you've become
And try to figure out where you came from

I don't think they know, that's my heart exposed
From the fearing of the endless lies

Trade yourself in for the perfect one
No one needs to know that you feel you've been ruined
Trade yourself in for diamond eyes
Watch the stars collide as you're lifted from your burden

I know you can't feel a thing
It hurts to feel anymore

Trade yourself in for the perfect one
No one needs to know that you feel you've been ruined
Trade yourself in for diamond eyes
Watch the stars collide as you're lifted from your burden
Trade yourself in for the perfect one
No one needs to know that you feel you've been ruined
Trade yourself in for diamond eyes
Watch the stars collide as you're lifted from your burden

Weekly Shinedown - Song Forty Five - Begin Again!

Hey There,

So I think that I discovered Begin Again around mid-February 2015. It was around the time when I decided to listen to Us And Them multiple times on repeat every time that I was in IT. Although it didn't stick out to me straight away, after listening to it many times, the whole hook of the song was just constantly repeating in my head!

I just love the fact that the song has a certain movement to it, and my favourite part has got to be the chorus because it is very long and lovely. My favourite lines of the song are "Bring only what you need to survive" and "I crawl inside just to begin again".

The meaning of Begin Again has got to be about someone who has had a bad reputation, and finds it troubling to be accepted by people. People always look down on them for it, and of course, this person would do absolutely anything for a fresh start, even sacrifice all that it dear to him.

Originally, when I heard Begin Again, it really reminded me of the Taylor Swift song, also called Begin Again, especially because it always reminded me of a once-friend who decided to give me a hard time, yet I really didn't know how I had ever wronged her. But anyways, I would say that listening to Begin Again by Shinedown is much less hurtful and emotional!

Once again, I've been unable to find any suitable chords for Begin Again, mainly because they're all in tab version, which I honestly cannot understand. But anyways, I hope that you've enjoyed reading this, and feel free to read any of my earlier posts from this year!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Begin Again below incase you're interested!

Welcome friends
To seconds lost, and to starts that won't begin
To twisted eyes that see inside
Rules that always bend
A simple task, a see-through mask
That questions where and why
We shared our skin to occupy, and keep our piece of mind

Bring only what you need to survive

They burn an image from lines on my face

They stole it from the pages that kept my place
I stand on the outside, would die to get in
I crawl inside just to begin again

It's so unfair

This broken smile that keeps us all aware

Of wishful thoughts, and scenes we lost
And times we'll never share
I'll ask you now to show me how
To fill the circle in
What tells us all?
There is no fall, and the story never ends

Bring only what you need to survive

They burn an image from lines on my face

They stole it from the pages that kept my place
I stand on the outside, would die to get in
I crawl inside just to begin again

They never loved

They never cared

I wished you'd understand
I'm already dead
What would you be
Why would you die
How could you lie
Take something from me
(they burn an image)
They took it from me
(they burn an image)
They took it from me
(image)
They stole it from me
Image
Image

They burn an image from lines on my face

They stole it from the pages that kept my place

I stand on the outside, would die to get in
I crawl inside just to begin again
They burn an image from lines on my face
They stole it from the pages that kept my place
I stand on the outside, would die to get in
I crawl inside just to begin again

Weekly Shinedown - Song Forty Four - Lady So Devine!

Hey There!

Lady So Divine has got to be the longest Shinedown song ever recorded. However, this means that when I listen to it on repeat, I never get bored of it. It was around the beginning of February 2015 when I decided to listen to Lady So Divine more often than it just passively playing when I was listening to the full Shinedown album, Us And Them.

I remember around this time, I was doing a PE quiz, and my team name was Team LSD, because it stood for Lois, Sophie and Devon. But the whole time, I had Lady So Divine in my head, and I think after this date, I began to explore Lady So Divine in a lot more detail.

The meaning of Lady So Divine seems pretty straightforward. I reckon that it's about a guy who was on the wrong tracks, but then he met this woman who was able to change his life completely. The song seems to come in three parts. The part is about him describing this woman to us, and how he met her. The next couple of minutes during that absolutely beautiful riff are of how this woman was able to change his life around completely. And finally the last part is about how his life became different, and a lot more uplifting after he had met her.

My favourite part of the song is the first three minutes of Lady So Divine, because the song is so fresh, and it is so exciting and captivating. When Lady So Divine is played on the radio, they usually nay play this part, which is good, but at the same time, I think that they're really missing out on that terrific riff in the middle!

Sadly I can't find the chords anywhere for Lady So Divine, but from listening to the guitars playing in this song, it seems really complicated, like only a pro would be able to play it. It's been great writing some more about my Shinedown experiences, and I'd love to hear from you all so soon!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Lady So Divine below incase you're interested!

In an earthquake, in main space
Where I fell into you
In a starlight, you look so bright
You eclipse the moon
On a highway, just today
That's where I saw you
It was music from a distance
Burning proof

She's here to rescue me
Clear my mind, and set me free
If it's dark, she still shines
A masterpiece made by design
She's here to rescue me
Stain my mind with make believe
If it's dark, she still shines
She's my lady, so divine
Lady so divine, come and change my mind
Lady so divine

When the waves break, and the soul shake
Wreckage from the night
On a mountain is a story
Told a thousand times
Of a garden, and a bed there
Made to rest our eyes
There's a comfort to a softness
That will not be denied

She's here to rescue me
Clear my mind, and set me free
If it's dark, she still shines
A masterpiece made by design
She's here to rescue me
Stain my mind with make believe
If it's dark, she still shines
She's my lady, so divine
Lady so divine, come and change my mind
Lady so divine

The midnight sun, she saves me
From what I've become
The midnight sun, she saves me
From what I have done
What I have done

She's here to rescue me
Clear my mind, and set me free
If it's dark, she still shines
A masterpiece made by design
She's come to rescue me
Stain my mind with make believe
If it's dark, she still shines
She's my lady, so divine
Divine!
Divine!
Divine!
She's my lady so divine
Divine!
She's my lady so divine
Lady so divine, come and change my mind
Lady so divine

Weekly Shinedown - Song Forty Three - Shed Some Light!

Hey There!

This next Shinedown song, Shed Some Light, is one of my favourite Shinedown songs that I have ever heard. It also had such a personal meaning to me, that it is a really important song in my life!

I think that the first time that I heard it was in January 2015, when I was really getting into Shinedown's second album called Us And Them. Shed Some Light really stuck out to me, and I instantly fell in love with the song. From looking into the song, I saw that the meaning of the song was that it was about someone who was pleading to God for him to give them answers about their faith, and I always imagine that this person needed strength to help them believe, due to the immense power of this song! I also remember when Shinedown sang an acoustic version of Shed Some Light on their tour when they were playing at Kansas City, Brent Smith told the audience that Shed Some Light is his father's favourite song, and he actually wrote it with his dad in mind!

However, I didn't discover the true meaning of the song until I was walking to school one day on Tuesday 10th February 2015, and Shed Some Light came up on my Spotify shuffle play, so I let the song play. Then it hit me around halfway into the song that Shed Some Light really does describe the testimony of my cousin-in-law Joel, of how he became a Christian!

This is how the story goes: Joel grew up in a Christian family, although when he was around 16 years old, he turned away from God so that he could start hanging out with his mates. However, when Joel was 17, one of his best mates called Rob sadly dies because he was hit by a car. This threw Joel right off track, and really upset him. Then on Joel's 18th Birthday, he attended Rob's funeral. Afterwards, he went down to Whitby Beach, and just cried his heart out, and that evening, he became a Christian. He wanted God to Shed Some Light on him, give him faith, and lead him in the right direction so that he could follow God, and from then on, Joel's life was changed, and God was able to help him out, especially by leading him on the right path to meeting my cousin Kerry so that they could eventually get married!

Somehow I seem to be so obsessed with Shed Some Light that as well as constantly listening to the original Shinedown version, I also seem to constantly listen to other versions such as with Lzzy Hale, acoustic versions, live versions, and even other covers. Now every time that anyone mentions the phrase about shedding light on something, it instantly brings back memories of this song, and how truly wonderful it is!

Surprisingly, I actually know how to play the whole of Shed Some Light on my guitar, because the chords are really easy to play, such as Em, C G and D. Everytime that I play Shed Some Light on my guitar, it always makes me reflect on how Joel became a Christian on the beach.

Don't forget that you can always read all of my earlier blog posts on this page, and stay tuned for more Shinedown posts from me.

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to Shed Some Light below incase you're interested!

I'm falling apart again
And I can't find a way to make amends
And I'm looking in both directions
But it's make believe, it's all pretend

So...
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in

It's innocence within the maze
But I have chosen the wrong way
I'm still getting over who I was
There's no sense of trust, there's no definition of love

So...
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in

I know now, it's not who you are
It's who you know
And I see clearly now, which way to go
I remember the way I fell from above
And I recall the way I was

So...
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe
Tell me something that I'll...
Tell me something that I'll believe
Tell me something that I'll believe
Something I'll believe

Weekly Shinedown - Song Forty Two - One!

Hey There!

I think that I heard One for the first time around the beginning of February 2015. I was just listening to Shinedown's full digital albums that they had put onto Spotify, and when One came up, I really loved the song. Originally, I didn't actually know that Shinedown only covered it, and that's why it was called One - Clear Channel Stripped. Afterwards, I listened to the original version by U2, and also, some other top covers, such as Johnny Cash.

The song just seems so powerful, and that is probably because of it being stripped down to just Brent's voice and a guitar. For once, I don't think that I have a favourite part of this song. Instead, I love it as a whole, and I think that every part of the song links together very well to sound like a masterpiece altogether!

From looking at other people's interpretations of One, it is not set in stone what the meaning is about, which means that it is open to anyone's creativity. Personally, I see it more as two people who love each other dearly, but their relationship is failing, and everytime that they come back to each other during a moment of weakness, they can't help but feel angry, hurt, and most of all, confused. Not really much of a relatable song to my life, but nice anyway!

I do actually remember that I played One on the guitar a while ago, although I have no idea where I found those chords from. Anyway, I hope to see you all again soon!

I'll see you all next Thursday!

Lois xx

P.S. I'll leave the lyrics to One down below incase you're interested!

Is it getting better,
Or do you feel the same?
Will it make it easier on you, now?
You got someone to blame.

You say, one love, one life,
When it's one need, in the night,
One love, we get to share it,
It leaves you, baby, and you don't care for it.

Did I disappoint you,
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you never had love,
And you want me to go without.

Well it's, too late, tonight,
To drag the past out into the light,
We're one, but we're not the same,
Well we carry each other, carry each other,
One...

Have you come here for forgiveness?
Have you come to raise the dead?
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head?

Did I ask too much, more than a lot?
You gave me nothing, now it's all I got,
We're one, but we're not the same.
Well, we hurt each other,
And we do it again.

You say "Love is a temple, love a higher law,
Love is a temple, love the higher law."
You asked me to enter, and then you made me crawl,
But I can't keep holding on, to what you got,
When all you got is hurt.

One love, one blood,
One life, you got to do what you should,
One life with each other,
Sisters, brothers.

One life, but we're not the same,
We get to carry each other, carry each other...
One...
One... (yeah-ah)
